Short-Term Running Goals:

Run on trails as much as I can.

Not get injured and stay consistent with my training.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Complete a 50 and 100 mile ultra.

Qualify for Boston... missed it by 8 seconds previously

Run one of those rediculously aided Utah half-marathons helter skelter down a canyon and get a PR.

Personal:

Married with three boys. Ran the Odgen Marathon in honor of my mother, a marathoner, who passed away from cancer and it just had continued from there. Grew up in a running family and have fallen in love with running, especially on trails.

Went from the house this morning down the canal trail to the road towards the high school. Did 4 tempo miles between 3-7, it's been a while since I have done any speed work. 6:58,7:02,6:55,7:04, tried to keep the pace even, the hills equalized the time. Tempo miles didn't feel too bad, AP for the run 7:52

Went from the house by my lonesome again, went out from the hood to SR73, up the hill, to the ranches, to the 4 way stop then out towards Eagle Mountain, hit 7 then turned around and headed for home. My poor tummy has not been well the last few weeks it seems, this morning was no exception. I need to watch what I eat a lot better.

Splits were as follows 8:12,8:14,8:24,(thehill),7:57,7:53,8:00,8:14,7:49,7:52,7:56,7:44,7:38,7:37,7:39

Hot recovery run around the neighborhood.  My wife ran 3 miles with me.  Happy 4th of July.

Pretty fun run this afternoon.  Ran about 3.75 to the middle school to watch my son do conditioning with the football team, then ran the big loop around the ranches back to the house.  I started raining the second half and remained pretty consistant.  It cooled it off and reminded me of running in Florida where I grew up.  We really needed the rain.  Plus got a bonus rainbow towards the end.  AP 7:57

Had my wife drop me off at the mouth of Provo Canyon for a run while she visited her mom.  I tried to get away from the sun, however, it was still pretty sunny on the trail.  Just a nice and easy run up the canyon.  Planning on 20 tomorrow, if anyone wants to tag along let me know, as all my running partners are out tomorrow.

Woohoo, got it done this morning.  Highest mileage week yet.  Ran by myself from the inlet park north, forgot my garmin, but the trail is marked and I ran 18 last Sat. so I knew where 9 was.  Ran the first 9 AP 8:27, kept going for another 8 min 30 seconds to give me 10 then ran back to the 9 mile split, hit my watch and it was 17 exactly,  finished the last 9 with an AP of 7:57.  AP for the whole run 8:14.  Legs felt ok during the run.  I ran every run this week in my Altra instincts.  I saw some deer on the run this morning with a nice buck feeding just off the trail.
