Short-Term Running Goals:

 

Run on trails as much as I can.

Not get injured and stay consistent with my training.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Complete a 50 and 100 mile ultra.

Qualify for Boston... missed it by 8 seconds previously

Run one of those rediculously aided Utah half-marathons helter skelter down a canyon and get a PR.

Personal:

Married with three boys. Ran the Odgen Marathon in honor of my mother, a marathoner, who passed away from cancer and it just had continued from there. Grew up in a running family and have fallen in love with running, especially on trails.

2 laps around liberty park during lunch. Lap 1 11.40 lap 2 11.11 total 22:52. Nice to be out and running, yet everything feels out of synch. Hopefully it is the start of good things to come. Got to get back into routine, stepped on the scale and I had gained 15 pounds over the last 2 months. I guess you could say I had a relapse.

2 laps around liberty park for lunch 1st lap 12:08 second 11:11 total 23:20. Just tried to keep the pace nice and easy until about the last quarter mile then tried to push the pace, felt pretty good.  I need to go on a longer run to see how my actual fitness levels are as I can pretty much fake my way for 3 miles.

So I tried the barefoot running while Trenton was at football practice.  Ran around the outside of the city park for about 3 more miles.  Actually felt pretty good, the pace was probably between 7:40-8:00 per mile.  I've got to enjoy this weather while it lasts.

Five miles with Laurel on the JRP, started above Camp Williams, besides some stomach issues halfway through it was a nice run.
