Short-Term Running Goals:

Run on trails as much as I can.

Not get injured and stay consistent with my training.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Complete a 50 and 100 mile ultra.

Qualify for Boston... missed it by 8 seconds previously

Run one of those rediculously aided Utah half-marathons helter skelter down a canyon and get a PR.

Personal:

Married with three boys. Ran the Odgen Marathon in honor of my mother, a marathoner, who passed away from cancer and it just had continued from there. Grew up in a running family and have fallen in love with running, especially on trails.

Three miles on the snow packed dirt road from work.  Good climb on the way up.  Hopefully I can manage my time better to get some runs in.

Went to the track with the boys.  Spencer ran with the soccer ball on the grass inside the track.  Trenton ran three miles with me on the track.  AP: 7:44

Did three miles with Laci dog up the canyon to Monrovian Park.  The creek looked temping so came back down and grabbed my fly rod.  Did three miles more on the trail stopping at all the tempting looking trout holes catching wild trout along the way.

Needed to get my butt out there.  Only have until the beginning of June to get ready for the Squaw Peak 50.  Good run in the wind and rain along with Laci dog.  Not the fastest but didn't feel too bad out there.

Did four repeats at the hot springs this morning with Laci.  Had a nice, rejuvinating dip on the last repeat.

Hit the Red Rock trail out of Richfield on the way in to work this morning.  Still building up my base.

Ran 6.2 in the morning around the hood and the track, did about half on the grass inside the track.  Mid morning went fly fishing up Pole Canyon which added another four miles.

Ran the dirt road leading up to the foothills about the Dairy Road.  Afterwards got a bunch of kids from the soccer team together and played a pickup game.  Good workout.

Started at the mouth of Monroe Canyon, went off trail to begin and crossed the creek and climbed up the south side.  Hit the canal trail on the way back, then finished my miles by running up the canyon to Monrovian then back to the vehicle.

Woke up at 4am and hit the dirt leading towards Poverty Flats from Bishops.  Didn't get a run in yesterday so had to make sure I got it in today.

Ran up the snow covered dirt road from the Sheriff's Office up to the turn off to 6 Mile Canyon.  Good climbing mixed in.

Woke up to around an inch or two of snow.  I was planning on running on roads, but don't like to hit pavement when it is icy/snow covered.  Took the dog and went to the dirt road leading past the dairy into Poverty and ran there.  5 mile out then back.  AP 8:50

Went and ran on the paved path that runs through the county.  My left achilles has been bothering me for the past year or so.  I was going to run 13, but it didn't get warmed up at all so I turned around at five and headed back.  I ordered some cushoned shoes when I got back as I feel I need more protection than my minimal road shoes when I run on pavement.  AP 8:37
