Short-Term Running Goals:

Run on trails as much as I can.

Not get injured and stay consistent with my training.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Complete a 50 and 100 mile ultra.

Qualify for Boston... missed it by 8 seconds previously

Run one of those rediculously aided Utah half-marathons helter skelter down a canyon and get a PR.

Personal:

Married with three boys. Ran the Odgen Marathon in honor of my mother, a marathoner, who passed away from cancer and it just had continued from there. Grew up in a running family and have fallen in love with running, especially on trails.

Started the morning with a hike with my wife out of Richfield along the red rocks.  Left work early to attend the kid's track practice.  Ran some sprints and other exercises with them at the track.

Got up early and went up 1st left hand fork this morning.  One of my favorite trails so far in the area.  Explored around top a bit, came upon a newborn calf elk feeding from it's mother for a couple minutes.  Pretty cool to watch up there.  Legs were feeling the sprints yesterday on the track on the way back down.

Drove up the canyon until the turn off to the peak.  Ran on the dirt road at the top until I got to the Manning Meadow Reservior.  Pretty run, elk were in the meadows around every corner. It is good to work the lungs up there as it is between 9,800 and 10,400 feet elevation.  Gained around 1400 feet of elevation gain along the way.  I can tell I am out of shape, but the mountain just begged me to go further...
